Today is the 7th day of using ROATE as the seed word. A time may be coming soon to use the 1^st and the 2^nd words of the triad (ROATE/SULCI/NYMPH).

Today’s Wordle:
Target Word: COCOA (A-Typical -3 vowels, no compound consonant)
# Of Guesses: 4.1 WordleBot average per Marc McLaren*, 4 for WordleGuru.  😐

Seed Word: ROATE: first word of the triad – ROATE/SULCI/NYMPH.
What we learned from the Seed Word: presence of two vowels – O in the 2^nd spot and A but not its exact position.

2^nd Word: SALSA:  Since majority of the Wordle words have 2 vowels, we didn’t need to search for additional vowels.  For this reason, instead of SULCI (the 2^nd word of the triad), I chose SALSA. Using 2 instances of the same character is not wise, but most of the words I could think of have an A in the middle.

I was looking for an anagram of CLANS without A in the middle.  There is none! Since we already know A is not in the middle, using a word with an A in the middle (example CLANS) too would have been a waste of one space!  The word SALSA gave me 2 opportunities to figure out the exact position of A.   It worked.  We found A in the last position.

Five possibilities at this stage – VODKA, DOGMA, COMMA, COCOA and MOCHA.   Time to deploy the EnotE© strategy.

3rd Word: I like to use one of the possibilities as the elimination word, if it makes sense.  I wanted to use COCOA as that word (my gutfeel was driving me toward this word), but it would not have eliminated VODKA or DOGMA.  The ideal elimination word was COMMA.  It worked and led me to the answer.  Today my gutfeel was right!

Final Thoughts: Wordle is a game of luck and skill. Sometimes luck favors the game and sometimes it favors the player. Today I didn’t press my luck otherwise I would have entered COCOA, not COMMA as the elimination word. 😊
