I need to make a comment about my reaction to yesterday’s score of 5.  My niece reminded me of my own saying that scores “regress to the mean”.  I know my mean score is slightly over 3.5.  This implies I have to expect 4’s and occasional 5’s along with 3’s for the mean to come out slightly over 3.5.  I apologize for my overreaction.

Today’s Wordle:
Target Word: SURLY

Typical or atypical target word? — Typical, it contains only 2 vowels (U, Y) and one compound consonant (RL). The “norm” is 2 vowels and 1 compound/paired consonant.

Seed Word: STARE – The “go-to” seed word starting March 8, 2023.
What we learned from the Seed Word: The seed word revealed 2 consonants – S (in the 1^st position) and R without revealing its position.  Too many possibilities at this stage. Need more discovery.

2nd word: CHOIL (2^nd word of the triad STARE/CHOIL/PUDGY): It revealed L but not its position.  At this stage, only 1 possible word – SURLY! 😊

Final Thoughts: Wordle is a game of luck and skill. Sometimes luck favors the game and sometimes it favors the player. Today luck was not in play.
