Wordle Bulletin # 509 (November 10, 2022)
My strategy is built to ensure I solve 95% of the puzzles in 4 guesses or less. It is not built to always shoot for the lowest score possible. The score depends a lot on the seed word. Wordle is a game of luck and skill.

Target Word: UNITE
Typical Wordle Word Construct: 2 Vowels and one compound/paired consonant (2 letters or 3 letters; seen with >50% frequency)
Today’s Wordle Word Construct: A-Typical; 3 Vowels (U, I, E), No compound consonant
# Of Guesses: 3.6 WordleBot average per Marc McLaren*; 3 for WordleGuru
Seed Word: LATER; I looked at the last 3–5 Wordle words to decide between STARE, STALE, and LATER. (A and E are the two highest frequency vowels; R, S, T, and L are the 4 highest frequency consonants.)
Seed Word Revelations: 1 consonant (T), 1 vowel (E) but not their exact positions
# Of Possible Solutions after the seed word: more than 100. Regardless, it was time to investigate the possibility of deploying the EnotE strategy, even though they were 100+ possible answers.
Second Word: PIOUS; I had a hunch that Y is absent from today’s target word. This was based on the fact that the letter Y predominantly appears in the 5th position (more than 8 out of 10 times). Further Y in the 5th position appears once every 5 days, on an average. Y had appeared 3 times in the last 11 Wordle words. So, I didn’t want to include Y in the second word. I still needed to search for at least one more vowel.
After a lot of deliberation, I came up with the word PIOUS (includes three vowels and 2 relatively high frequency consonants).
To my pleasant surprise, and utter disbelief, it eliminated all 100+ words, except for 3 – UNITE, QUITE and QUIET. This is a yet another new record for an elimination word after the last two days of record eliminations.
I fused frequency data to select among the three. Unite had the most likelihood so I chose it and, thanks to Lady luck I got it right. 😊

EnotE (Eliminate-not-Enumerate) Strategy deployment: Deployed right after the first word. It worked beautifully! Led me to the target word (with the help of frequency data)!! 😊

Final thoughts: Wordle is a game of luck and skill. So much depends on the seed word. LadyLuck was in my corner today!
