Wordle Bulletin – Week of July 24 (24-30), 2023 (#765-#770)
Wordle #771 (July 30, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 3.6– Triad: SLATE/RHINO or CHINO/PUDGY
Tactics for today’s Wordle: After the seed word, only three possibilities – BATHE, TAUPE and ATONE. Second guess based on frequency and usage. Proved to be the target word. Stroke of luck. 😊😊

Wordle # 770 (July 29, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 3.9– Triad: SLATE/RHINO or CHINO/PUDGY
Tactics for today’s Wordle: The seed word didn’t reveal any vowels. Therefore, I changed the 2nd word to CURIO instead of CHINO/RHINO. It did the job since there was only word possible after the first two words. 😊😊

Wordle # 769 (July 28, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 3.8– Triad: SLATE/RHINO or CHINO/PUDGY
Tactics for today’s Wordle: After the first 2 words of the triad, 2 possibilities. My gutfeel pointed me to the word that was not preferred on account of frequency. My experience is that roughly half of the time gut feel is right, and the other half of the time frequency-based decision is right. Since I had used frequency-based words recently, I thought I’d go with my gutfeel. Luckily it worked.😊

Wordle # 766 (July 25, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 4.0– Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY
Tactics for today’s Wordle: Changed the seed word to SLATE, one of the two words that WordleBot prefers the most (the other word is TRACE). The second word of the triad is now RHINO. The 3rd word remains unchanged. After the 2 words, 2 possibilities including one that is not used frequently. Luckily my guess worked. 😊

Wordle # 765 (July 24, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 4.5 – Triad: ALTER/SONIC/PUDGY
Tactics for today’s Wordle: After the first three words of the triad 9 possibilities. Time to deploy the EnotE© strategy. Could not come up with one word that would eliminate 8 of the 9. Looked for a 2nd best alternative. Chose THUMB as the elimination word. Thankfully, it did the job. This was a tough one. Glad to come out in 5 guesses. 😊
