Wordle Bulletin #640 (March 21, 2023) — “Back to 4 again!”

Today’s Wordle:
Target Word
: TOUGH
# Of Guesses:
3.8 WordleBot average per Marc McLaren*, 4 for WordleGuru ☹

Seed Word: STARE – The “go-to” seed word starting March 8, 2023.
What we learned from the Seed Word: The seed word revealed T but not its position. Too many possibilities at this stage. Need more discovery.

2nd word: CHOIL
(2nd word of the triad STARE/CHOIL/PUDGY): It revealed 2 letters – H and O, but not their positions.  At this point there were 5 possibilities including 2 orthographic neighbor words [MOUTH, MONTH/YOUTH], TOUGH and OUGHT. Time to deploy the EnotE© strategy.

3rd word: MOUTH – I prefer to use one of the possible words as an elimination word, if possible. Today it was possible. I picked MOUTH as the elimination word. It worked and led to the target word – TOUGH.

Final Thoughts: Wordle is a game of luck and skill. Sometimes luck favors the game and sometimes it favors the player. Today luck was not on my side.   My elimination word did not prove to be the target word.
