Wordle bulletin – Week of September 11 (9/11-9/17) (#814-#820)

Wordle #820 (September 17, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 3.6
Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’s Wordle: I didn’t use the second word from the triad. Instead, I used a different word – CURIO, based on the learning from the seed word. After the second word, I had only one option!Β  MUSIC to my ears! 😊😊😊

Wordle #819 (September 16, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 3.8
Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’s Wordle: I didn’t use the second word from the triad. Instead, I used a different word – CANER, based on the fact that the seed word revealed the presence of A and E – two high frequency vowels and the absence of S and T -two high frequency consonants. After the second word, I had only one option – ANGEL. 😊😊😊

Tactics for today’s Wordle: After the first two triad words, 18 possible solutions. Used one of the 18 as an elimination word. Luckily for me it eliminated all but one. 😊😊😊

Wordle #817 (September 14, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 4.1
Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’s Wordle: I used a different second word since no consonant was revealed by the seed word. I picked a word with four consonants and the vowel that was revealed by the seed word – RANCH. At this stage I thought there were only two possible solutions – ROMAN, and RAYON. I picked RAYON based upon the presence of Y, since Y appears once every 7 to 8 days on an average. I lucked out since I didn’t think of RAINY as a possible solution. I may have picked RAINY over RAYON. Lucky today. It’s a game of luck and skill. 😊

Wordle #816 (September 13, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 3.3
Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’sΒ Wordle: After the seed word, 9 possibilities. Using the frequency data when the target word doesn’t have the letters S and T, chose one of the possibilities as the 2nd guess. It worked; it was the target word.Β  the 2nd word would have worked as an elimination word in the case it wasn’t the target word.Β  😊😊😊😊😊
