Wordle Bulletin #626 (March 7, 2023) — “Will I ever learn!!!!!”

Today’s Wordle:
Target Word: HORSE
# Of Guesses:
3.7 WordleBot average per Marc McLaren*, 4 for WordleGuru.  ☹

Typical or atypical target word? — Typical, it contains 2 vowels (O, E) and 1 compound consonant (RS). The “norm” is 2 vowels and 1 compound/paired consonant.

Seed Word: STAIR – The “go-to” seed word starting March 1, 2023.
What we learned from the Seed Word: The seed word revealed 2 letters (S, R), but not their positions. Too many possibilities at this stage.  Need more discovery.

2nd word: OUNCE (
not the 2nd word of the go to pair STAIR/CLONE): Since no vowel was revealed by the seed word, decided to use a word with 3 vowels – OUNCE. 3 possibilities at this stage – [WORSE, HORSE], PROSE. WORSE was used recently.  Coin toss between HORSE and PROSE.

3rd word:  PROSE; I chose PROSE based on data. Lost the coin toss.  Interestingly, the 2nd word of the triad (CLONE) would have eliminated PROSE!  I keep “learning” this lesson.  Stick with the triad!  From tomorrow no more ignoring the triad words. Promise!!

Final thoughts: Wordle is a game of luck and skill. Sometimes luck favors the game and sometimes it favors the player. Today luck was not on my side. I lost the coin toss. Also, shame on me for not trusting the triad words.
