Wordle Bulletin # 487 (October 19, 2022)

EnotE strategy did the job effectively for this Wordle

Target Word: QUIRK
Typical Wordle Word Construct
: 2 Vowels and one or more compound consonants (seen with >50% frequency)
Today’s Wordle Word Construct: Typical; 2 vowels (U, I); 1 compound consonant (RK)
# Of Guesses: 4.0 WordleBot average per Marc McLaren*; 3 for WordleGuru

Seed Word: SOARE
Seed Word Revelations:
1 consonant (R) in the 4th position
# Of Possible Solutions after the Seed Word: 13; It was time to deploy the EnotE strategy.

I was pretty sure that the last letter will be a Y since it occurs on an average every fifth day (~20% frequency).

Based upon the 13 possible words, I debated between CULTI and UNITY, since only two words out of the 13 have a Y at the end. On the other hand, CULTI has the letter L which is present in 5 of the 13 words, while N is present in one word only. I was swayed by my argument for the letter Y in the fifth position. I selected UNITY as the elimination word.

UNITY did the job and eliminated all but one leaving me with the target word QUIRK.  😊

Second Word: UNITY
Revelations from the 2nd word:2 vowels (U and I); I in the 3rd position
# Of Possible Solutions after the Second Word: 1 – QUIRK

EnotE (Eliminate-not-Enumerate) Strategy deployment: This Wordle is a showcase example of the power of the EnotE strategy.

Final thoughts:
Wordle outcome has a lot to do with luck, not just skill. It’s clear that LadyLuck was on my side today.
