Wordle Bulletin – Week of August 28 (8/28-9/3) (#800-#806) – Wordle Guru

Wordle #806 (September 3, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 3.9 Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’s Wordle: After the first two words of the triad, only one solution. 😊😊😊😊😊

Wordle #805 (September 2, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 3.9 Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’s Wordle: Since the seed word didn’t disclose any vowels, changed the second word from the triad word (RHINO- 2 vowels) to CURIO (3 vowels). 7 possibilities after the second word. I discarded the three of the seven that end in “ING”, leaving me with 4 possibilities.  Used one of the 4 possibilities as an elimination word (ONION). Luckily it proved to be the answer. 😊

Wordle #804 (September 1, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 3.5 Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’s Wordle: After the seed word, 15 possibilities including three different sets of orthographic neighbor words.  I could not find one word to eliminate 14 of the 15 possibilities.  After deliberation, selected the best elimination word I could think of (RANCH).  Luckily it worked out. 😊

Wordle #803 (August 31, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 3.9 Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’s Wordle: After first two words from the triad, 10 possibilities. Could not use one of the 10 as an elimination word. Instead used BLIMP. it narrowed the choice to two possibilities – BRIDE, and BRIBE. Using frequency and usage data chose BRIDE. Luckily it worked. 😊

Wordle #801 (August 29, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 4.0 Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’s Wordle: I changed the 2nd word to ACERB instead of RHINO since the seed word revealed two vowels (A & E), but not their positions. Regrettably ACERB was not able to confirm their positions.   The two words narrowed the choice to 5. Used one of the five possibilities as an elimination word and it did the job.😊

Wordle #800 (August 28, 2023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 3.5 Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’s Wordle: I changed the 2nd word to CURIO instead of RHINO since the seed word revealed only one vowel (E).   The first two words narrowed the choice to just 2 words – WRITE and TRITE.  WRITE is used more often than TRITE, so I picked WRITE and it proved to be the target word. 😊
