Wordle Bulletin # 610 (February 19, 2023) – “Not a 3 again!”
Today’s Wordle:
Target Word: KIOSK
# Of Guesses: 4.0 WordleBot average per Marc McLaren*, 3 for WordleGuru. 😊
Typical or atypical target word? — Typical, since it contains 2 vowels (O and I) and one compound consonant (SK). The “norm” is 2 vowels and 1 compound consonant.
Seed Word: ALERT – “go-to” seed word.
What we learned from the Seed Word: The target word didn’t reveal the presence of any letter. Still, it conveyed a lot of information – the 5 letters in the seed word are nowhere to be found in the target word.
2nd word: SONIC (“go-to” 2nd word); SONIC revealed the presence of three letters – S, O and I but not their positions. There were 2 possible answers at this stage – PIOUS and KIOSK. Letter frequency pointed to PIOUS, but position mix, presence of compound consonant, and usage pointed to KIOSK. I chose KIOSK. I won the coin toss today. It was a lucky day. 😊
Final thoughts: Wordle is a game of luck and skill. Sometimes luck favors the game and sometimes it favors the player. Luck was in my corner today.
