Wordle bulletin – Week of October 16, ‘23 (10/16-10/22) (#849-#854)

Wordle #855 (October 22, 023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 4.2
Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’s wordle: After the seed word, I used a non-triad second word – INCUR. It revealed two more letters. It was time to deploy the EnotE© strategy. I chose BANDY as the elimination word (3rd guess). At this point 5 possibilities. Used frequency and usage data to pick the fourth guess (from among the five). Luckily, it proved to be the answer.

Wordle #851 (October 18, 023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 4.1
Triad: SLATE/RHINO/PUDGY

Tactics for today’s Wordle: After the seed word, I used a non-triad second guess since the seed word revealed only one vowel. At this point in time seven possibilities. Needed to deploy the EnotE© strategy, preferably using one of the seven possibilities as the elimination word. I had a hunch that today’s Wordle ends in the letter Y, so I chose MERCY since it is the only possibility that ends in a Y. Luckily it worked. 😊

Wordle #850 (October 17, 023) – NY Times WordleBot score: 4.0
Triad: ROATE/SULCI/NYMPH

Tactics for today’s Wordle: the seed word revealed 2 letters – A and T. I chose a non-triad word as the second guess – CHINS. It didn’t reveal any additional letters, still it wasn’t a wasted effort.  Knowing that the 5 letters in the word are not present narrows the choice. At this point in time 14 possibilities. I had to deploy the EnotE strategy now. I picked one of the 14 words as an elimination word and to my surprise it proved to be the answer. The choice of this word was dictated by frequency of usage. Today frequency of usage worked perfectly. Very lucky indeed. 😊
