Wordle Bulletin #729 (June 18, 2023) — “Shyly – Yes; Slyly – No!”

Typical Wordle: 2 vowels (counting Y as the sixth vowel), 1 compound (ex KN)/paired consonant (ex NN)
Today’s Wordle: SHYLY (Typical)

NYT WordleBot average score: 4.2 (per Marc McLaren*)
WordleGuru score:  3 😊
Seed Word: ALTER: the first word of the triad – ALTER/SONIC/PUDGY.
2nd Word: PIOUS: Not the second word of the triad.
Reason for selection: A typical Wordle word has 2 vowels. The seed word didn’t reveal any.  PIOUS has the next 3 most frequent vowels (next to A and E).  It also has 2 high frequency consonants (S, and P).
What we learned: Only two possible words – SHYLY and SLYLY. The compound consonant SH is 5 times more frequent than the compound consonant SL. So, I went with SHYLY. it worked. 😊

Next step: Not needed!
Interesting Fact: Today’s Wordle is the first Wordle with two “Y”s! (Since January 1, 2022)
