Wordle Bulletin #704 (May24, 2023) — “Coin toss when there are 2 possible answers – luck!”
Today’s Wordle:
Target Word: UTTER (Typical – 2 vowels, 1 paired consonant) [typical – 2 vowels, 1 compound/paired consonant]
# Of Guesses: 4.2 WordleBot average per Marc McLaren*, 3 for WordleGuru 😊
Seed Word: ROATE: first word of the triad – ROATE/SULCI/NYMPH.
What we learned from the Seed Word: Presence of 2 consonants (R, T) and 1 vowel (E) but not their positions. Since most of the Wordle words have 2 vowels, we needed to search for additional vowels.
2nd Word: SULCI: 2nd word of the triad. It revealed the presence of 1 vowel (U) but not its position. At this stage there were three possibilities (ERUPT, UTTER and TRUER). I thought TRUER is not used very often so the choice came down to ERUPT or UTTER. Since ER is a more frequent ending than PT, I decided to take a chance on UTTER. Luckily it worked. 😊.
Final Thoughts: Wordle is a game of luck and skill. Sometimes luck favors the game and sometimes it favors the player. Today luck was in my favor. 😊
