Wordle Bulletin #693 (May13, 2023) — “Love to see 3s!” 😊
Today is the 11th day of using ROATE as the seed word. A time may be coming soon to switch the 1st and 2nd words of the triad (ROATE/SULCI/NYMPH).
Today’s Wordle:
Target Word: ACRID (Typical – 2 vowels, 1 compound consonant)
# Of Guesses: 3.6 WordleBot average per Marc McLaren*, 3 for WordleGuru 😊
Seed Word: ROATE: first word of the triad – ROATE/SULCI/NYMPH.
What we learned from the Seed Word: presence of one vowel (A) and one consonant (R) but not their exact positions.
2nd Word: SULCI (the 2nd word of the triad) since the seed word revealed only 1 vowel and majority of the Wordle words have 2 vowels. 4 possible answers at this stage (VICAR, CAIRN, ACRID, and CIGAR) – only 2 of which are commonly used words (per my judgment) – ACRID, and CIGAR.
3rd Word: ACRID: typical Wordle world contains 2 vowels and 1 compound consonant. ACRID fits this mold whereas CIGAR does not. Frequency data on the other hand, favored. CIGAR. I put my weight on typical word characteristics and chose ACRID. Lucky for me it worked.
Final Thoughts: Wordle is a game of luck and skill. Sometimes luck favors the game and sometimes it favors the player. Today luck was in my corner. 😊
