Wordle Bulletin #635 (March 16, 2023) — “Regression to the mean-back to 3 after a 4 and a 5!”
Today’s Wordle:
Target Word: CIDER

Typical or atypical target word? — Atypical, it contains 2 vowels (E and I) but no compound consonant. The “norm” is 2 vowels and 1 compound/paired consonant.
Seed Word: STARE – The “go-to” seed word starting March 8, 2023.
What we learned from the Seed Word: The seed word revealed 2 letters – R and E without revealing their positions. Too many possibilities at this stage. Need more discovery.
2nd word: CHOIL (2nd word of the triad STARE/CHOIL/PUDGY): It revealed C in the first position and one vowel (I), but not its position. At this point there was only 1 possibility – CIDER! Bingo. Life can’t be any better! 😊
Final Thoughts: Wordle is a game of luck and skill. Sometimes luck favors the game and sometimes it favors the player. Today luck was not in play.
