Wordle Bulletin # 611 (February 20, 2023) – “Lost a 3-headed coin toss!”
Today’s Wordle:
Target Word: SWEAT
# Of Guesses: 3.4 WordleBot average per Marc McLaren*, 3 for WordleGuru. 😊
Typical or atypical target word? — Typical, since it contains 2 vowels (E and A) and one compound consonant (SW). The “norm” is 2 vowels and 1 compound consonant.
Seed Word: ALERT – “go-to” seed word.
What we learned from the Seed Word: The seed word revealed 2 letters with their positions and 1 letter without its position. An excellent outcome. Only 3 possible answers – SWEAT, CHEAT, and WHEAT. It was time to deploy the EnotE© strategy.
2nd word: CHEAT (not the “go-to” 2nd word); I like to use one of the possibilities as an elimination word. Based on statistical data available to me, I chose CHEAT. It eliminated WHEAT and led me to the answer – SWEAT.
Final thoughts: Wordle is a game of luck and skill. Sometimes luck favors the game and sometimes it favors the player. Luck was not in my corner today, otherwise I would have scored a 2! Missed opportunity for a 2. ☹ Happy to get a 3. 😊
