My “Go-to” Word Triad (Seed, 2nd and 3rd words), Strategy & Statistical Facts Sections for the Daily Bulletins
Strategy
My strategy is built to ensure I solve 95% of the puzzles in 4 guesses or less. It is not built to always shoot for the lowest score possible. The score depends a lot on the seed word. Wordle is a game of luck and skill. My goal is to score an average solve rate of 4 guesses. My aspirational goal is 3.5 average and <5% 5/6 guesses.
My current performance vs. the goals:
I started using the current set of seed and 2nd words (ALERT and SONIC) on 12/9/2022. My performance since then is summarized below. Due to relatively small sample size, it is too soon to draw any statistically valid conclusions. I will feel more comfortable with the averages once I reach the sample size of 100.
No. of puzzles solved: 65
Average: 3.43 (aspirational target 3.5 or less) 😊
% Puzzles solved in 4 guesses or less: 95.4% (Goal >/= 95%) 😊

My “go-to” words Triad (Seed, 2nd and 3rd words)
Seed Word: ALERT (top 3 consonants and top 2 vowels from frequency perspective)
2nd Word: SONIC (4th-6th Most frequent consonants and 3rd-4th most frequent vowels)
3rd Word: PUDGY (8th-10th most frequent consonants and the remaining 2 vowels)
The 7th most frequent consonant (H) is not covered by the triad. Very seldom one needs to rely on the 3rd word of the triad.
Special Situation
Very often the seed word reveals the presence of the vowels A and E and nothing else – letters or the exact positions of the two vowels. In this case I recommend using the word CHINS since it has the same 3 consonants as SONIC and additionally the 7th most frequent consonant (H), but only one of the two vowels from SONIC. This recommendation is based on the fact that most Wordle words contain only 2 vowels.
